Priyanka Gandhi during her Raebareli visit stops convoy to interact with students

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who was on a one-day visit to Raebareli, the parliament constituency of her mother and Congress President Sonia Gandhi, on Friday, stopped her convoy after seeing students of a local institute waiting to approach her and heard their concerns over the rising incidents of harassment of women.
The star Congress campaigner spoke to the girls on her visit to Sonia Gandhi's parliamentary constituency after stopping her convoy at the Civil Lines crossing on her way from Fursatganj airport. The students complained about the lack of security for women and the poor law and order situation.
They also informed her about centrally-funded development projects in the constituency being executed allegedly in violation of norms. Priyanka Gandhi assured the girls that she would look into their concerns.
Priyanka Gandhi also held a closed-door meeting with party workers at the Bhuemau guesthouse before leaving for New Delhi. The girls were invited to the Bhuemau guesthouse where Priyanka Gandhi met them and gave assurance that steps would soon be initiated to address their security concerns and other problems.
At the meeting with office bearers, she reviewed the progress of tasks assigned by her during her last visit and issued new directives. Asking party workers to work with team spirit, she said the need of the hour was to reach out to villages to strengthen the party at the grassroot level and apprise the common people about the works being done for them.
She said the organisation should help whosoever reaches it without any concern for caste, religion or political affiliations. Priyanka Gandhi regretted that the party had failed to properly put forth the works done by it before the public. She said by 2014 elections, there should be no groupism in the organisation so that people's faith in the party is restored. She also exhorted office bearers to solve the problems of common people. Priyanka assured party members that they would be given an active role in development works henceforth and asked them to oversee organisation related works.
Before returning to New Delhi, Priyanka Gandhi promised to come again after a month to review organisation works.
