Priyanka Gandhi: People need development not palatial houses for the leaders

Lashing out at Mayawati Government’s functioning in Uttar Pradesh, Congress (I) star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has said that the time has come for the people to think whether they want a government which bothers about the people or one which wastes crores of rupees on palatial buildings.  ‘This election is crucial for the development of the state and your future’, reminded Priyanka Gandhi "It is the people who create leaders; It is the people who make or break a government. A leader, who does not have feeling of service towards people and who thinks that power is a chance of self promotion, only you people can teach him a lesson," said Priyanka Gandhi amidst applauds. She said that it would be good for the region if both the MLA and the MP of the constituency belong to the same party (read Congress). In case they are from different parties their interests being divergent, the issues of the people get side tracked, she argued. Poiting out that the non-Congress governments during the last twenty two years had failed to deliver on their promises, Priyanka Gandhi assured the people a Congress Government in UP will take back UP to the track of development.
