The Congress leader held interaction with the people on Tuesday. She listened to the problems of locals from Raebareli and Amethi — the Lok Sabha constituencies represented respectively by her mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi and brother and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi. The janata darbar at Bhuvemau guest house ground began around 10 am and Priyanka Gandhi met more than 300 people in groups. The locals came with different requests, from seeking help for treatment of their ailing family members, to seeking better road connectivity and drinking water. In a bid to strengthen the Congress party in the region, she also met newly-appointed presidents of gram panchayat, Nyaya Panchayat and the block leaders to set the next two months' agenda — undertake padyatras (footmarch) to spread message about UPA's food security scheme.
